Our Process

How we run every project.

From the first site visit to the handover, one crew owns every step. Here is the path a ThermoFreeze project takes.

  1. 01

    Site Visit & Estimate

One of our estimators visits your site, measures the space, and prepares a written quote in-house. Not a sales rep handing your file to whichever subcontractor is cheapest that month.

  2. 02

    Custom Design

Every panel system and door is engineered to your exact floor plan, load, and access path. Drawn for your space, not pulled off a catalog shelf.

  3. 03

    Panel Installation

Our own crew sets and seals the insulated panels. The envelope is built to be serviced down the road, not just to pass the first inspection.

  4. 04

    Refrigeration & Electrical

Condensing units, line sets, drains, and power feeds, all run by the same crew on one schedule. Nothing waits on a third-party trade.

  5. 05

    Commissioning

The system is charged, balanced, and commissioned on site, then documented, so you get a record of exactly how it was set up.

  6. 06

    Handover & Support

You get the warranty paperwork and a crew that already knows your installation. The service call reaches the people who actually built it.

FAQ // 10 Answers

What You Actually Want to Know.

01 Walk-in cooler vs walk-in fridge vs supermarket refrigerator — what's the difference?

Same equipment, different names. Walk-in cooler and walk in fridge mean the same thing: a refrigeration unit large enough to walk into. A supermarket refrigerator usually refers to the same equipment installed for grocery operations. ThermoFreeze designs, builds, and installs all three, sized to your floor plan rather than pulled from a catalog.

02 Do you build industrial fridges, industrial freezers, and cold storage warehouses?

Yes. Beyond standard commercial walk-in coolers and freezers, ThermoFreeze builds industrial fridges and freezers from 500 sq ft up to 20,000+ sq ft, multi-zone cold rooms and distribution-scale cold storage warehouses.

03 How much does a walk-in cooler or freezer cost in Ontario?

Walk-in pricing depends on envelope size, refrigeration spec, doors, and site conditions. Every project starts with a free site assessment, and we quote each build after a site review.

04 How long does installation take from the day I approve the quote?

Most standard walk-in coolers and freezers are fully installed in about 2 weeks of quote approval, against an industry norm of 4 to 6 weeks. Because ThermoFreeze uses our own in-house crews (not subcontractors), we're not waiting on third-party availability.

05 Do I need a building permit for a walk-in cooler or freezer in Ontario?

It depends on your municipality and the size of the unit. Electrical and refrigeration permits almost always apply. ThermoFreeze's design-build service includes full permit management.

06 Do you offer financing for commercial cold storage projects?

Yes. ThermoFreeze introduces you to two established Canadian equipment-finance partners, Grenke Leasing and Econolease, with flexible terms and fast approval. Full details on our financing page.

07 What's the difference between ThermoFreeze and a national equipment dealer?

National dealers ship you a flat-pack and hand you a manual. ThermoFreeze designs, builds to spec, and installs using the same team that sold you the project.

08 Do you service all of Ontario, including areas outside Toronto?

Yes. We cover the full province: GTA, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Ottawa, Kingston, Barrie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and everything in between.

09 What warranty comes with a ThermoFreeze walk-in cooler or freezer?

Every ThermoFreeze install ships with a 1-year workmanship warranty on the labor and a 1-year guarantee on new equipment, plus an optional manufacturer compressor warranty up to 5 years. Full details on our warranty page.

10 Can you build CFIA or Health Canada compliant cold storage?

Yes. All ThermoFreeze installations are built to Ontario Building Code and can be specified to meet CFIA, Health Canada, SQF, HACCP, and BRC audit requirements.
